Contraceptive Management

During your appointment, you will be asked if there is any information you would like regarding future contraception. Rest assured our staff have extensive experience with contraception and family planning.

There are a number of additional contraceptive services we can provide, and we’ll take the time to find the best form of contraception to suit you.

We can provide the following contraception services;

Oral Contraceptive Pill

There are a variety of Contraceptive Pills on the market. Taken daily, they contain synthetic hormones to prevent the release of eggs so pregnancy cannot begin.

Contraceptive Injection

This is an injectable form of contraception that prevents the production of eggs. Instead of taking the pill each day, you receive an injection every 12 weeks.

Contraceptive Implant Insertion & Removal

We can insert the Contraceptive Implant during your procedure. The Contraceptive Implant is a white plastic rod that is inserted under the skin of the inner, upper arm. It releases constant small amounts of progestogen into the body to prevent pregnancy.

IUCD Insertions & Removal

An Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) is a small copper or hormonal device inserted into the uterus by a doctor. It lasts for 5 years and has the effect of killing off sperm, at the same time as changing the lining of the uterus to prevent the attachment of a fertilised egg.
